About the Event
International Earth Day is an annual event with the aim of raising awareness, and demonstrating support towards the protection of the environment. This year, the theme is: Climate Action.
In order to celebrate International Earth Day's 50th anniversary, the Eco Council has organised a variety of fun, yet educational activites. We wish to provide our fellow students with the opportunity to channel their thoughts about the environment into creative media and share their views with others, while also learning more about the topic itself.
All events will be held online, and students will receive more information from their form teachers in the beginning of the week.

The following outlines what is to take place:
- Poem and/or artwork competition
- Eco Council live stream assembly during form time, where winners will be announced
- Debate between Mr. Allard and Mr. Baldoni about Climate Change and diet

Below you can find examples of artwork and a poem that we have created:

Poem
“A Tale of Woe”
Mother Nature looks down
upon Her creation,
expecting to be surprised
yet feeling deceived,
Instead of Her face lighting up
and Her lip curling into a smile,
the sapphires in Her eyes welled up,
they are vile.
my majestic Oceans, my wonderful Seas,
all littered by their greed,
my Forests and Jungles
my Deserts and Grasslands,
but oh, my Coral Reefs
The most gentle blue tear
rolled down
her rosy cheek,
this is not my creation, this is an abomination.

*These examples are not to be followed completely, their purpose is simply to give ideas about the kind of work applicable to the theme.
